The Andean oak, scientific name quercus humboldtii, is a species of oak found only in Colombia and Panama.
Commonly known as the Colombian oak or robur, it is an evergreen tree that grows up to 25 meters tall, and 1 meter in diameter.
The tree grows at high altitudes in the Andes with an average annual temperature of 16 to 24°C and an average annual rainfall of 1,500 to 2,500 mm.
The leaves are simple, alternate, lance-shaped, up to 10-20 cm long, and clustered at the ends of the branches.
