Begonia Pearcei is a member of the Begonia family, Begoniaceae. These plants are usually bushy and have prominent decorative leaves and flowers.
Above the surface, the leaves are green with black velvet, traversed by straw colored veins. Below the surface is dark red except for the prominent veins.
This plant was first introduced to Europe in 1864 by Richard Pearce who found it at Andes Bolivia.
And this begonia is still growing to this day, with the velvet textured dark green leaves and very obvious veins.
