According to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Begonia peltatifolia is native to Hainan Island, China, and belongs to the Begoniaceae family.
This species is admired for its thickest leaves compared to other Chinese begonias.
The leaves of this plant are wavy, leafy, ovate and green.
If the leaves turn white or fade, or appear to be burning, it means they have been exposed to too much sun.
In most cases, the fresh foliage makes this begonia tolerant of dry conditions, so even lack of watering should not be a major problem.
