The broad-leaf privet with the scientific name ligustrumlucidum is a vast evergreen tree that grows up to 10 meters tall.
It is a species of flowering plant in the family of Euphorbiaceae, also called Chinese privet, glossy privet, tree privet or wax-leaf privet. ., and grows wild in southern China.
The seeds are known in traditional Chinese medicine as nu zhen zi (female purity seeds/berries) and are thought to nourish the liver and kidneys.
Its Latin name lucidum means "bright" or "shiny" and refers to its leaves.
This plant is often used as an ornamental tree in a variety of forms.
