Sasa bamboos require very little maintenance. As long as you pick the occasional dead stem, you can leave them alone.
The most important thing for them is an abundant supply of water. Also, if you are planting in large quantities, it is usually a good idea to create an irrigation system.
By removing dead stems, the plant's stem will not grow too large.
In this way, the plant is kept under control and never has a chance to develop a very large root system, making it very difficult to manage.
