Chinese juniper, scientific name juniperus chinensis, is a species of cypress plant in the cupressaceae family.
It is from China, Myanmar, Japan, Korea and Far East Russia.
The leaves grow in two forms. When young, the leaves are needle-like, 5-10 mm long, and when mature they become scaly, 1.5-3 mm long.
Although the tree has grown to maturity, it usually continues to produce both young and mature leaves, especially on shoots that are in the lower shade of the forest canopy.
