Deerberry, with the botanical name vaccinium stamineum, is a species of flowering plant in the heath family.
Also known as tall deerberry, squaw huckleberry, highbush huckleberry, buckberry, and southern gooseberry, and is native to parts of North America and Mexico.
Deerberry is a shrub that typically grows up to 1.5 meters tall, but can sometimes reach 3 meters.
The leaves are alternate, with light yellow-green leaf blades, oval in shape with pointed tips and smooth edges.
These leaves may then have a hairy or waxy texture, especially on the underside.
