The evergreen huckleberry, whose scientific name is vaccinium ovatum, is a North American species of flowering shrub that is a true huckleberry plant.
Also known by common names such as winter huckleberry, cynamoka berry and California huckleberry, it grows well in shade or sun and does well in acidic soils.
It is a small to medium-sized evergreen shrub native to the western Pacific coast of the United States and British Columbia.
The leaves are ovate, alternate, glossy, and have finely serrated edges, and are 2 to 3 cm long and 1 cm wide.
