Glossy privet with the scientific name ligustrum lucidum, is a species of flowering plant in the family oleaceae that is native to southern China and has naturalized in many places.
Also called broad-leaf privet, Chinese privet, tree privet or wax-leaf privet, it is an evergreen tree that typically grows to 10 meters tall.
The leaves are glossy dark green, opposite, 3 to 8 cm wide and 6 to 17 cm long.
This tree is often used in a variety of forms, either as an ornamental tree or as a dense evergreen hedge.
