Lesser periwinkle, scientific name vinca minor, is a species of flowering plant in the dogbane family.
It is native to central and southern Europe, east to the Caucasus, and southwest Asia in Turkey.
The plant is a small subshrub that spreads along the soil and roots along the stem to form large clonal colonies.
Because of its green leaves and dense habit of covering most weeds, it is commonly grown as a ground cover plant.
