The narrow buckler-fern (English name) with botanical name Dryopteris carthusiana is a species of wood fern.
Also known in North America as spinulose woodfern, it is native to moist forests throughout the entire Holarctic kingdom.
It is sub evergreen, and the foliage survives mild winters but withers in harsh winters.
