The orange cotoneaster with the scientific name cotoneaster francheti is a species of cotoneaster native to southwestern China, northern Myanmar, and adjacent northern Thailand.
Also called Franchet's cotoneaster, it is an evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub up to 3 meters tall.
The leaves are long and sharply oval, glossy green on top and densely covered with whitish hairs underneath.
Cotoneaster varieties with thick, hairy leaves are "super plants" that help absorb air pollution.
