Pandan (Malay and Indonesian), scientific name pandanus amaryllifolius, is a tropical plant of the genus pandanus (screwpine).
It is an evergreen plant with erect, slender, blade-like leaves that spread in a fan shape.
The leaves are aromatic and are widely used in Southeast and South Asia to flavor food.
The green juice obtained from the leaves is widely used as a food coloring and flavoring agent in Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine.
