The pepper vine, whose botanical name is nekemias arborea, is often used as an ornamental plant in gardens.

It is from the southeastern United States, Texas and New Mexico.

This plant spreads rapidly and climbs trees and bushes.

It is attractive, but its rapid growth makes it a nuisance, when not strictly restricted.
