Redleaf helicia with botanical name helicia cochinchinensis, is characterized by smooth bark and serrated leaves, which gradually turn red throughout the year.

The leaves are alternate, inverted lanceolate to ovate, thin, coarse, hairless, with a pointed base and nearly full margins.

The trunk leaves gradually turn yellow, and the leaves of young trees are sharply serrated.
