Rhododendron (from ancient Greek rhódon "rose" and déndron "tree") is a genus of very large woody plants in the ericaceae family.

Rhododendron 'Crater Lake', its newly grown leaves are bronze, turning Irish green over time.

Flowers are plate-shaped with jagged edges, electric blue with bright throats.

The small single flowers are grouped in clusters of three, with many clusters on a single branch.
