Rose grape with the scientific name
medinilla magnifica is a species of flowering plant in the Melastomataceae family.
This plant is also called the showy medinilla and is native to the Philippines.
Rose grape is an epiphyte, a plant that grows on other trees, but does not take food from those trees like a parasite.
The plant grows to 3 meters and the opposite sturdy, leathery leaves reach 20-30 cm and are ovate with short points.
