Velvet bean, scientific name mucuna sempervirens, is a tropical evergreen plant in the Fabaceae family.
This plant comes from China and India. It grows naturally in the Yangtze River valley.
The flowers are in clusters consisting of reddish purple and yellow and hanging in 10 to 20 florets.
The leaves are small with alternating elliptic tips and pointy ends, about 10 cm x 6 cm in size and dark green in color.
