Wedding cake tree with the latin name cornus controversa, is a species of flowering plant in the family cornaceae.
It is a deciduous tree native to China, Korea, the Himalayas, and Japan, and grows up to 15 meters tall with terraced branches.
The leaves are ovate and grayish dark green, turning purplish red in the fall.
This tree is widely grown in gardens and parks in warm climates.
