Winged spindle, scientific name euonymus alatus, is a species of flowering plant in the family celastraceae, native to central and northern China, Japan, and Korea.

Also known by various names such as winged euonymus, or burning bush, it is a deciduous shrub that typically grows to 6.1 m and is often wider than it is tall.

The leaves are ovate with acute tips, 2-7 cm long and 1-4 cm wide.

This tree is a popular houseplant in gardens and parks because of its attractive fall color.

Its name, "burning bush," is derived from the bright red color of its leaves in the fall.
