The woodland elaeocarpus, botanically named elaeocarpus sylvestris, is a species of tree in the genus elaeocarpus.
The leaves are obblanceolate and glossy green.
This tree is up to 15 m tall and is found at altitudes between 300 and 2000 m in evergreen forests.
Elaeocarpus forests are found in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam (Indochina).
The tree is also planted in parks and along roadsides.
