The yellow-paint maple, whose botanical name is acer pictum, is a species of Asian maple.
It is a deciduous, tall tree with gray bark, usually up to 20 meters tall.
The tree is widespread in Korea, Japan, Mongolia, eastern Russia, as well as most of China.
The leaves are not compound, have 3, 5, 7, or 9 lobes and are thin and toothless.
