I saw this unique little trick that affiliate marketers have been using for years. If you're not familiar with affiliate marketing, it is basically promoting a product or service offered by someone else. If your marketing efforts and advertising result in a sale, then the owner of the product or service will pay you a percentage of the sale amount. So in really simple terms affiliate marketing can result in you receiving a commission.
When a person registers to be an affiliate marketer, they are typically assigned a special URL to use for referring traffic. The special URL is coded so that it contains information to uniquely identify the affiliate marketer that should get the credit for the sale.
Now here's the hack: The affiliate marketer has configured a web address that is associated with their special URL (affiliate link) to direct traffic to the original product or service. So the end-consumer uses the special URL to access the original website for the product or service. Here's a video I found that explains how it works, and then shares a hands-on demonstration.
After learning about the technique, I wanted to know more so I watched the video and it explained really well how it all works. It is an awesome affiliate marketing hack that I am in the process of implementing it for myself. I am an affiliate for several digital products, so I plan to A/B Split Test the hack on one or two of them and then publish my results in the future.
