I completely flunked an interview at one of US top Pfirms.

It was going great. Then they asked me what my biggest weaknesses is.

“I get very demotivated if I don’t see how what I’m doing fits into the bigger picture”.

The interview was over within the next two minutes.

I could basically see the interviewer muttering "another ***** millennial"

To any manager who’s ever thought anything like this.

Bad luck.

By 2025 millennials will be the majority of the workforce.

I’m was 32 which makes me one of the first millennials. I've heard all about it.

“Your generation is so entitled”.

"You lot won't put the work in".

“When I was your age I… blah blah

We're more educated more than any previous generation.

We want to learn. We’re flexible. Willing to adapt.

But we’re more demanding on managers.

We want to feel purpose. Be inspired. Be lead (not managed).

Businesses that succeed over the next 20 years will need to embrace millennials. There’s no way around it.

So if you’re an employer who’s struggling to attract, motivate and retain millennials, this is a problem that you’ll need to solve. Sooner is better than later.

We’re pulling together case studies on best and worst practice at the moment, and would LOVE your input. Share your stories below!
