Is Steemconnect.com Legit or not?

Hello lovelies,

I have tried to access various site related to steem and all of them requires that I sign in through steemconnect, and I decided to do a little research on steemconnect and I found out it is built to enable security for you account as you use other platforms to avoid given you private key away.

But signing up to steemconnect requires you to provide a you private key and other steem details to login.

My Question Is; Is STEEMCONNECT Legit and Safe To Use you private key On?
