And still the saga continues!
The next step in this story picks up at the court clerk's office.
I got to go there to get a 'Title 22 letter'.
I knew that title 22 was criminal procedure, but had no idea what kind of letter I might need.
It was just what the lady said when I called and asked what I needed to get my license back.
Armed with my little bit of information, I went to the clerk and asked for a title 22 letter just like the dmv told me.
I had asked the dmv lady if the court clerk was gonna know what that is, and she assured me that they would.
Wouldn't you know it, they played dumb.
The second lady probably knew what I was needing, but not the first one.
I don't think she knew much, at all.
I got tired of the run around and started lighting them up with why were they the only county in the state that doesn't give out a paper copy of the court minute when it is signed, how it took 10 days to get it recorded online, and how this was just messed up, and they gave me one.
For free!
Just to get me out of the office.
I bused it out to the DMV.
It is too far to pedal the bike.
I just signed in, waited my 87 minutes, and was told to go to that window over there, this window doesn't do that.
How classic is that?
It's what I get for not asking the lady behind the glass.
I think she put me to the top of the pile, I got called a few minutes later.
I figured the court minute stating dimissed without costs would be good enough for the dmv, and it was.
But only after the examiner got it examined.
He knew what to do.
He was even willing to do it for me.
Apparently, when you are ticketed on the side of the road and released, you are released on your own recognizance.
If you fail to appear for the ticket hearing, you get a new charge.
Now, we know that I didn't get a copy of the ticket because the cop was dirty.
That got me the extra charge.
Can't go to a hearing you didn't get notice of.
So, long story short, the dmv wanted the judge to dismiss the failure to appear, too.
The examiner called the judge's clerk, the judge was somewhere not to be found, but the clerk got another judge to say, 'just dismiss it', and the examiner was all smiles.
He said I could get a license the next day at the tag agency.
I probably could have gotten it at the dmv, but I wanted to shave and put on a good shirt.

I was given this shirt while I was working at a laundry mat, I think it is great shirt for my license.
It lets the cops know I am on to them.
Have a perfectly peaceful day, dear reader.

This, I am convinced, is all designed to keep us busy proving we are not lawbreakers. Medical industry, education industry, animals-as-pets industry, building industry, transportation industry etc. All of these require that we spend hours and hours of every week demonstrating that we followed the rules. I am opposed to any new laws or regulations governing the choices of regular citizens.

Looking at the riots around the world, we may be winning.
Freedom has to be taken, no white knights will ride in and give it to us.
If you don't cross the street in the middle of the block, then you are their best cop, and don't even get free donuts.

Only the willing slaves, I had an answer to their claims of ownership over me.
