The Lego rescuesteemCreated with Sketch.

I've just received a notification from Lego advising that a missing part from my Landrover set has been dispatched to my door. I'm pleased, as now the build can resume and I can get the vehicle on the road off the road and into the rough stuff sooner! Boom!

Lego has an excellent customer-service department and are quick to replace missing parts free of charge which is really nice; I assume it's factored into the cost of their products of course, but it's nice to have that support.

I got a message from @brickmanbrad a couple days ago saying how unusual it was that I have the missing part and that it's happened on two sets in a row. He suggested that I check the bags (when un-bagging the parts) in which the pieces are packaged up in as sometimes parts can hide in the corners - I get it, and agree. I have to be more diligent. The thing is that when I opened this particular set one of the plastic bags was split and parts were loose. I actually wrote about it in a post.

You can read that earlier post here however I've quoted the paragraph below for you.

I've got some concerns about missing parts also as when I unboxed the set one of the small bags was slightly open and there were some loose parts in the box. I'm hoping it merely happened in transit and the pieces I collected inside the box are complete. Time will tell I suppose.

The Lego I'm doing isn't the same as the stuff I had as a kid - That was more basic. Lego Technic is much more involved and the parts are therefore more specific and purpose-made. I guess over time I'll gather a few spares here and there but for now a missing part, even one as small as the one in this image, brings me to a grinding halt. (This part is about the same size as a micro phone sim.)

I've been really pleased with Lego, their response-time and the way in which they handled my issue, twice - I can only assume they do the same for all. I'm not sure if I've missed a part, left it in the plastic by accident, and will be extra careful with my next set, the Mack Anthem, however it feels good to have that support - In this day and age it's rare I think.

The next Lego post I do will be to show off the finished product which will be cool. I'm going to off-road this vehicle in the field, and video the expedition, so I hope that comes out as per the vision my brain has of how it will look - It should be coo! Time will tell. Either way, this build has been good fun so far and with only stage 4 to go it won't be long until it's complete.

Stay tuned.

I jumped online this morning and picked up this bad boy from Target as part of their Black Friday sale (starting online a day early).

Despite having nowhere to display it, and unlikely to have time to build it before we travel interstate for Christmas, I'm still excited for it to arrive.

Shut up! That’s awesome! 😍

They have 20% off? Might get online myself!

Better than 20% - Voltron is normally around the $280 mark, it's available for $173 at the moment

On it!

Howdy sir galenkp! Very interesting..and good to know they are so helpful in their customer service department. Does the packaging say how many pieces are in that thing? What is a Mack Anthem?

In the instruction book there's a full list of all parts but with 2500+ parts one doesn't know something is missing until that part is needed.

Mack Anthem is a prime mover made by Mack, a next level truck. Together with Mack, Legit made a model. A big one. Below is the Lego and the real one.

Holy smokes! What's on the trailer? Oh, and 2,500 pieces! Holy smokes to that too!

Yes, I’ve ended all my posts with that for over 12 months.

If I'd known they replaced missing parts I would have contacted them as @gorc was missing a part for a tank tread in a kit he got from my parents ages ago and the not-quite-quite finished thing sat there taunting him for years (I think it was the last thing he needed to do) before he finally dismantled it to make room on his shelf so I think all the parts are in his lego tub now XD

They do and will send it to your door. It's great customer service. Google Lego and go to their customer service section and a link for missing parts. Easy as!

I'm glad some company still has some semblance of customer service, though it seems like their packaging dept might need more quality control. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
