Savvy investors know the importance of diversifying thier assets. In addition to stocks and bonds the majority of financial experts will also recommend holding a percentage of your investment portfolio in precious metals.

I've detailed many instances where owning a small amount of gold and silver has literally saved people's lives over the last few months here on Steemit so I won't get into that today.

Along with my dusty old stocks I save money in CSB's, GIC's, RRSP's and now I'm even throwing a little bit of my free money into cryptos..but do you know what my favorite avenue for saving cash is?

You guessed it, physical metals.

Along with being a time tested and proven method of securing your wealth while mitigating the rising inflation rate, precious metals are just alot of fun to collect, look at and hold.

Precious metals, like crypto currencies, are not at all mainstream. The majority of North Americans don't own either and that's a real shame. I feel like people's naitivity towards both these investment vehicles is in part due to the fact they're not exposed to the culture behind them.

Here on Steemit were lucky to have a large group of enlightened folk that understand the newly formed cryptocurrency revolution and are investing their hard earned money into the space. Seeing the gains they've made in the last year or two has been exciting and I'm glad I finally joined the fold, that being said after studying the history of money I'd like to remind everyone that you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket and it would be a good idea to realise some of those profits and take a small percentage of such and invest it in some gold and silver.

We have a small but thriving group of precious metals stackers here on Steemit. We're hip to the new money but we also understand that tangible assets can't be overlooked, and just like we're buying up the new digital currencies to add to our investment portfolios, the new blood should also invest some of their money into the old money aswell.

There's a feeling of security that comes from gold and silver ownership that can't be described until you actually posses it, it's that allure that has drawn man to gold and silver for centuries. Gold and Silver are real money and can be traded for crappy fiat everywhere on earth.

There maybe new types of payment, currencies and stores of ones wealth that spring up but gold and silver will always have a place and will never go away.

I'm encouraging every member of the #steemsilvergold community to prepare a post showing off some of their real physical assets. The message is simple, protect your wealth and take your financial security into your own hands, literally, because if you can't hold it you don't really own it.
