The woke narrative is that it's transphobic to suggest that somebody may lie about being trans; It's transphobic to suggest psychological evaluation for people who are saying that they're trans, and get a diagnosis.
The woke narrative is also that one in three women are sexually assaulted on college campuses. It stands to reason that prison systems allowing convicted felons with penises into women's spaces would facilitate rape even more.
So, when the question of a policy of housing criminals based on gender identity rather than biological sex comes up, and the situation is brought up of a convicted rapist who decided to identify as a woman after the conviction to try to get into a woman's prison, the woke wires get crossed. Some claim that it never happens (it does). Some do at least draw a faint line, and say that the offense for which the person has been incarcerated should be a factor.
The thing is, in most of these states, "gender affirming care" is optional. In the case of people claiming to be non-binary, it's not really a thing. I don't think that people who even entertain the possibility of letting people with functioning penises into women's prisons understand men -- especially men who did something to land themselves in prison.
The rapist claiming to be a woman to get into women's spaces is low hanging fruit; but, a dude who is in prison for running a pyramid scheme is likely to have a certain sense of entitlement -- he's also likley to be horny and prefer to be surrounded by women.
Even if a rape doesn't occur, it can (and has) occurred that women have become pregnant in prison as a result of consensual sex with a male prisoner. This has happened in a case where neither parent will be out of prison for at least thirty years.
This issue shows us that we can't straw-man the wokesters. No matter how far, or how absurd you can imagine their ideology going, they've already embraced it.
