Imagine being the person who took the statement from a lesbian woman who was raped and said:
"He pressured me into sex by telling me that my lack of desire to have sex with him was my own bigotry. I agreed to go home with him; but, I changed my mind when I saw his penis and tried to leave." and felt compelled to tell the victim, "Hey, you're being intolerant to your attacker. The correct wording is that they pressured you into sex by telling you that you're lack of desire for sex with them is because of your own bigotry. You agreed to go home with them; but, you changed your mind when you saw their penis. I mean, I know you were raped; but, you shouldn't be bigoted toward your rapist."
That's what the BBC did. That's the world that we're living in. We need to change this.
If you're genuinely more concerned about using a rapist's preferred pronouns than you are about the rape victim being able to use her own words and have them reported correctly, kindly go to hell, fornicate yourself on an iron pike - really, just go fuck yourself. You're a bad person and you should feel bad.
