Some of the libertarian takes aren't so much like as cartoonish as "greed is good" or something.

I think a significant drift for me with libertarians was on this sort of thing. And it probably dovetails with a lot of other things that bothered me with libertarians like the pandemic and BLM.

It isn't so much that I think say Musk or Bezos' wealth should go to the government or something. Or that they can't do what they want with their money. It is more basic than that. It is that I think the top is significantly more morally righteous and praiseworthy. And we should go out of our way to lift up such individuals and acts. We shouldn't be so nihilistic about it.

This is probably why I find the term "virtue signalling" as an insult so repugnant.
