Something I've been hearing for the last twenty years of my life has been some variant of, "Well, Ayn Rand went on Medicare. She was a hypocrite because she took government handouts."
Let's make this clear -- if you think that it's hypocritical for a libertarian to use any government services, you need to pull your head out of your ass.
Notice that you get a tax refund when you're an employee with tax withholdings. Namely, the government is taking our money without any control on our end. There's nothing more libertarian than getting your stolen resources back by any means necessary.
In fact, it would be anti-libertarian to just let the government take our money and brush it off -- say, "Go ahead and have it. Use it as you please. What's mine is yours."
