The kind of talk in the heading is called lying by use of technique called hide/distort in ambiguity. Lies exist in the everyday language we use. Smart and righteous people will pinpoint these lying ways of talking and force people to change. For example, if someone tells me, "my friends told me you were mean." I would reply, tell me the 3 names of those friends and their telephone numbers, so I might be able to verify... If the talker thinks it's odd that I should ask that, then it's odd he comes to tell me something that I didn't want to know or have to know, but when I care to know the details, clarity, and authenticity, he runs around like a LOWLIFE SLIME in a conversation. He thinks my way of conversing is wrong but his lying ways are okay... Whoever presents the information has the obligation to provide details and cite the sources. This is how we write professionally in academic world. CITE THE SOURCES! Why should the standards be different when we talk in everyday language? If you don't want the burden of citing the sources you make references in your talks, SHUT YOUR FACE and don't talk!
