Why I hope Steemit will be worth billions $$$$

in life •  8 years ago

I hope Steemit is going to be the next Facebook, Twitter, or Microsoft so that I don't have to run around like I am in a rat race.

Followers

Does anyone else feel like they are in a rat race day in and day out? It is hard going to a day job knowing some people on Steemit are making $5,000, $10,000, and even $30,000 just to post content onto Steemit. There are some users on here that have a lot of followers already and can almost instantly earn thousands just on a single article from their followers. I wish Steemit was my full time job so that I can blog and write full time and have a following from the content that I post. We need to try to find a following so that we can potentially get into the hot section of Steemit articles.

Rat Race

Who else feels like they are working their tails off day in and day out just to make ends meet? I currently am married and work 60+ hours a week just to make ends meet, on top of that I also mow lawns for extra money and post on Steemit hoping that one day my work will be worth a lot more money because the value of Steemit will be worth a lot more as a company as a whole. I am tired of working 60+ hours a week just to get by, I want to be able to put in the amount of time that I want and maybe work 30-40 hours a week and be able to do whatever I feel like without having the financial constraints. Isn't this what the American dream really is? To not have to work 60+ hours a week just to make ends meet? And I am lucky I do not make minimum wage or else I would be in poverty. There are Millions more people that make less then me and are in poverty.

I feel like it is a rat race because I get up at 6 a.m. go mow a lawn or two, be to work at 10 a.m. help customers all day in 100+ degree heat in July. It is hard working customer service outdoors especially in the summer time when it gets real hot here in the desert. And then when you get a customer complaining that they don't like what you have, or the prices are too expensive, or they'll tell you take $1,000 dollars off and I will buy it like I am making thousands of dollars on them when literally the company you work for only gives you $100 bucks if you sell something for them and they are the ones that take all of the profit for you to help people. And then you finally get home at 8 p.m. exhausted, tired, and worn out. You do this 6 days a week, every week for the rest of your life. This is what I call a rat race my friends this is what causes people to say that the system is rigged against them and do not like the system of capitalism. By no means I do not want to get political but just saying folks. I do not want to be the guy that has to work 60+ hours a week every week for 40 years then die of a heart attack because you are so overworked and exhausted. I am tired of being in a rat race and hope to be successful on Steemit!

Go all in

The question is do we go all in on Steemit and invest our own money, write and blog on Steemit? This is the tricky question. Had I invested some of my own money into Steemit when I first started 2 weeks ago maybe I would have 2,000 or 3,000 in Steem Power right now instead of just 1,000 Steem Power. I started Steemit before word was out that it was a great new concept, I did my first post on my cell phone on vacation when it was just .25 Cents for 1 Steem and everyone probably considered it a really risky investment. But from my perspective this is a lot less risky then putting money into penny stocks where there are far too many penny stock scams and companies that are going bankrupt. To tell you the truth I trust Steemit far more then I trust a penny stock scheme where they are telling you what companies to put your money into and then they just take your money and never do anything with it but scam you. It seems like penny stock companies have perfected the art of scamming people, but this Steemit is a legit concept we don't have to invest any money only our time. This is why I think that I am going to go all in and start putting some of my own money into Steemit out of each check, write, blog, and curate content.

In the end

In the end it is going to be worth it investing our time and money into Steemit if this turns into a multi-billion dollar concept. I think it will turn into something huge and all of our time and money will be well spent. I read another article on Steemit a while back about how a lot of the early investors in Apple are now multimillionaires today because they believed in the company and invested their money into it. I believe Steemit will reward us greatly just like Apple rewarded its early investors. Don't listen to all the naysayers who say no way it won't happen, just believe in yourself and believe in what you are doing and laugh at the naysayers when we all retire early.

Please up vote this if you want to help stop the rat race and receive some karma for yourself. Thanks for reading this if you made it this far, hope I didn't bore you.

I respect the hustle man. It is tough out there to make it. The more and more I look I really feel like everyone is barely getting by and everthing is leveraged out beyond belief.

That's an excellent perspective. I on the other hand view Steemit as a hobby. I like to try my hand at writing, and I am an ambassador for the cryptocurrency Dash. I make plenty from my investments there, so I am simply playing the game here, building up a following, promoting Dash, seeing how much STEEM power I can make from posting. So far it's slow, but I'm not disappointed. One day a whale will notice me, then the ball will start rolling... Or not. Cheers, @acassity! :-)

We share the same thing. Ive been to blockchain for over a year now and steem had been a great venue to introduce crypto to my friends. Ive been advocating for btc nxt eth and steem.

Thanks, yeah it is a fun hobby it takes a lot of time sometimes though. But who knows could turn into somthing big. But good idea maybe just think of it as a hobby and don't think about the money think of it like you think of Facebook right?

That's my philosophy. I want to be a part of this because it is going to introduce a lot of new faces to cryptocurrencies and that is my goal, too. The financial gain for me will come from that, not from this website directly, IMHO.

I completely understand your pain.
I think steemit will become more valuable, more valuable than bitcoin, perhaps, and at some point, steem could be worth more than $5 each.

This could mean we REALLY benefit, for starting so early. So don't give up hope.
You've got a good head on your shoulders, and you can do it. Keep writing, and keep having fun, and I think it'll pay off soon.

We're in this together.

Well said. I like your attitude!

Thanks.

We all want more success for steem... it would be great if it reaches even half of facebook users. I mean judging from my followership at fb averaging to 150-200 likes everytime i post, steem would become a steady source of income for me. Thanks to Devs for coming up with such a great idea, a great means to bring blockhain closer to the masses.

Great post dude, i think we all want to get out of the rat race, same like you, I believe in steemit and for sure will be worth billions. taday the steemit comunity show me that "Yes I Can" in this post.

thanks for info

This doesn't have to be an all in or all out situation. People shouldn't dump their STEEM or SBD en masse if they want the system to remain stable, nor should they feel obligated to hold everything either.

Yeah, that's a good point, too. Moderation is the key, that's what my mom always says... ;-)

Yeah you certainly don't have to go all in maybe just post for fun for the heck of it and if it earns somthing then it earns something.

Over the long haul, the content will be the most valuable asset here. At least it could be.
