You wanted that one job, you had a great resume, you were a perfect fit for that job position, but they rejected you, you have to keep this in your mind, the interviewer wanted you to succeed, and you shouldn’t take this rejection personally.
They didn’t reject you as a person, they rejected the performance you had on that one particular interview, they rejected what you performed and showed to them, it’s not about your personality it’s about what you brought to the table.
Most interviewers will give you detailed feedback after the interview whether you’re rejected or you’re accepted, pay close attention and take heed, as you might find out the reasoning behind their choice.
Once you got the feed you should review and reflect on what were your positive and negative traits on that occasion, go through everything that happened, rank your performance on every stage of the interview, find any weak spots, there is always something to improve.
Build a plan for future interviews and develop yourself, how can you better your performance and fix your weaknesses? You may need some coaching or training in some specific area, some things can’t be changed overnight so be mindful of that as well.
Some roles might not even be perfect for you, sit back and think if you got that job, could you see yourself in that role on a day-to-day basis? If this isn’t the right kind of job for you and you have different expectations, you need to think deeper and realize your potential before attempting any future interviews in that field.
