We Are All JUST Passing Through- Be The Change You Want To See - 💕 💕 💕

I woke up this beautiful sunny morning contemplating on this wonderful quote :

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life

I am so pleased that I am living by this vision daily. I work as a carer for the elderly, the majority of my residents have dementia, others immobile - all need help with daily tasks we take for granted. I see myself as their hands and feet.

In a lot of jobs, you see the rewards - Maybe you get that promotion, that larger salary. In mine you feel the rewards- and it's beautiful.

Humanity is broken down to its simplest of forms. It doesn't matter what model car you drove, how big your house was, what clothing brands you wore. When you are peering out your window, waiting in anticipation for your son, hoping he will stay longer this time.

My entire life I felt I was a very emotional person-''too emotional'' - I would pass by a stranger, and think they were carrying with them some kind of burden by the expression on their face. I would conjure up some scenario of what could be causing such upset. I would almost feel their emotional pain. I would see it as a burden at times, but I have come to accept, no- this is not a burden, this is a blessing.

I am glad I chose caring, there is a great satisfaction in helping others. Many times my residents ( I prefer to call them friends) look me in the eyes ( it almost feels like they are looking through your soul) and say the three simple yet significant words ''Thank You'', and that hits me straight in the heart- and that is when I come to the realization that this is my purpose in life.

When you are feeling old, helpless, and at the best of times - lonely ( I have seen it all) , a lending ear maybe all that is needed. We all want to feel loved and appreciated on this journey - I will make myself a promise here and now to offer this today. Be the change you want to see in the world.
