When you first start out on steemit, things are difficult. You don't know how to make good posts, you aren't making anything, and you're frustrated. Steemit is a great platform that can help you earn money, but even more importantly will teach you 3 life lessons that everyone should learn.

(#1- In life, you won't always get what you want.)

When you are on steemit, you want to make posts that will be successful. You look up to those people who have $1000 posts or more and you envy them, and you make an attempt to make one of those posts. Then later, you look at your post and how much it's making...and drumroll...It's only at one cent! And you get frustrated that the post only made one cent and you have one comment from a minnow saying "follow me and ill follow you and upvote my posts" or something like that. This shows you that you won't always get what you want.

"Remember that getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck"
-Dalai Lama

(#2- You have to be persistent.)

On steemit, A lot of times, your posts don't make jack. But a key to becoming successful is you have to be persistent. You have to keep trying, and that goes for life as well. If you want to be successful, you have to keep trying.

"Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in."
-Bill Bradley

(#3- Quality over quantity.)
On steemit, usually quality content does better. People like to see someone who put in time to make a post that makes sense. This goes for life as well, for most things, quality is better than quantity.
