As of Wednesday last week, the Bureau of Meteorology predicted rain for five more days, followed by four days of storms and then more rain. On Thursday a couple of superstorms cells and a tornado hit several country areas not far from The Sunshine Coast. It is by no means as significant as Hurricane Michael hitting Florida. But any traumatic event, big or small that causes fear and extreme damage is incredibly upsetting and emotionally shattering to people. We are all very vulnerable to the incredible and unpredictable powerful force of Mother Nature.
The country and the animals were all at the mercy of Mother Nature in this little bit of Queensland. Some people lost their homes, a little boy has been very badly injured during the clean up. Out of all the photos that the News put online to cover the ferocious strength of the storm cells and tornado this, photo encapsulated the effects of its force.
Wow, we did not see this one coming and there was no coverage warning people of the impending storms and tornado. Even this weather has come out of blue; it is very unusual for this time of the year. Last year in October the hot summer temperatures were gathering momentum. We had a long dry hot summer.
This poor cockatoo must have been caught mid-air. I hope it recovers. It looks it has had a hard day's night.
