I can´t believe it, but several years ago people used to smoke cigarettes, that didn´t contain nicotine! But they contained several other herbs of the nightshade group and also important to mention, cannabis (in some brands).

I´m not 100% sure, but I think smoking them had some benefitials for people with asthma and somehow was helpful for a better breathing.

I am taking a wild guess here that they probably had active components that relaxed the bronchial tubes.
