My Home~ How I Curate & Personalize My Space

Personalizing our spaces make our surroundings inviting, adding a touch of our essence to our lifestyle. I’ve spent many years curating, restoring and caring for the pieces that make my space my home.

I have embraced the French way of mixing the old with the new. From handmade to baroque to Midcentury Modern. A bit eclectic but to me every piece has a story and a purpose.

I love to entertain in my breakfast nook where I have the large pine table my son built for me and for holidays and wine night I enjoy using my formal dining area as it feels more intimate and a tad sexier when candles are lit.

Don’t let all the white intimidate you! I’ve had a predominately white home even when my son was small, even with puppies. It takes a little more order and just being careful and respectful of your surroundings.

However, my home is not a museum but a place to live in comfortably so I don’t treat it as such. White should not scare you.

Even outdoors I use pieces I have collected, gathered, found, painted. I am not particularly fond of run of the mill living areas and furniture including outdoors.

You can’t expect to curate and personalize your home overnight. Find pieces that have meaning and use. Repurpose, paint and fall in love with them! They don’t need to be expensive, I can honestly say 95% of my home including my China, has been previously loved. Make your home a place you actually love being at and welcoming others! Don’t worry about price tags as long as you love it.
