Check out My Journe of Self- Development - Part 1 posted yesterday
Overcoming obstacles and honing my entrepreneurial spirit
Following my divorce, I worked multiple jobs in order to support myself and my son.
I was as an auxiliary nurse and a social worker. The common thread between these vocations was that I was helping people in each role. I used my intuition to tap into their needs. And the experiences helped to open me up, as I began to heal from difficult times.
I could feel the energy inside myself growing stronger every day. I was drawn to meditation groups. Through the connection with like-minded people, I opened up and began to discover who I was.
Have you ever gone through a difficult time? Although we can feel so low at the time, it is often these moments that pave the way for our rebirth.
For me, being more in tune with myself gave me the clarity and confidence to launch several companies over the coming years.
As I had always been around the family business and restaurant, I had been developing entrepreneurial skills for a long time.
I opened a catering business with my brother. So at this time I was working 9 – 5pm in social work and 6pm-1am in catering.
Although my brother initially had doubts, I felt strongly that this business venture would work out. Sure enough, we worked long hours and made it a great success.
My jewellery business
Following the success of the catering business, I had a newfound confidence in my ability to make profitable business decisions.
Next, I set up a small jewellery business. I was given the opportunity to network in Bangkok but before this journey, I had never travelled alone.
I felt a sense of fear. But even more powerful than this, was the inner drive to keep pushing forward to something that I knew would be rewarding.
So I booked my flights and accommodation and made my way to the event, where I bought beautiful pieces of jewellery from a variety of manufacturers.
The following year, I travelled to Hong Kong and repeated the process. I made beneficial contacts and the business continued to grow.
It was at this point that I really started to trust my instincts.
I had gone from being the girl who didn’t put her hand up, to a business person that was confident forging partnerships with others.
Where I had once felt conflicted and unsure of myself, I was now creating multiple business visions with clear goals and outcomes far into the future.
The birth of Healing Academy
Sensing a deep shift and time for change some years later, I turned my focus towards skincare. I wanted to make people not only look good, but I wanted to make them feel fantastic too!
Feeling revitalized and full of energy, I wanted to open a new business focused on health and wellbeing.
Unfortunately, Scottish Enterprise didn’t see the value in investing in health and wellness, preferring to place the focus solely on industries like manufacturing and IT.
Now? We are surrounded by wellness companies and products! This was another step that gave me confidence in my vision of the future. I unwaveringly believed that this was the way forward.
I started small. I helped people one-to-one through energy healing. The more I practiced healing, the more I honed my gift.
Yes, I offer techniques and tips that help people to become more in tune with themselves. But I believe it is the gift of connection and my own experience that sets my services apart.
Today, I trust my instincts 100%. My guidance comes from a much deeper place and I am confident in my abilities.
We all have the ability to connect deeply with others. If you feel you are not connecting as deeply with your employees as you might like to, this realization is the catalyst!
This is where all powerful transformations begin - the catalyst is part of that inner voice that pushes us on to something greater.
When you truly empathise with your employees, you are more equipped than ever to share a collective vision. It is this vision that will carry your business forward to the next stage of the opportunity.
Energy cannot be bought. The healing services I offer are the collective sum of everything I have experienced in life. It is a positive force that I channel in person and online. It comes from my heart and from my soul.
In Part 3 tomorrow I will talk about my past and future partnerships.
