You're not depressed, you're distracted

You're not depressed, you're distracted, begins a famous speech by the great Argentine singer-songwriter, Facundo Cabral.(✝).

Distracted from the life that populates you, you have heart, brain, soul and spirit.... then how can you feel poor and miserable?.

And the fact is that depression is a pathology that seems to be increasing lately, leading to suicide in lamentable and extreme cases. Depression should never be taken lightly, usually associated with simple sadness or anxiety, but it is a condition that goes far beyond that. According to World Health Organization publications, by last year, depression was affecting more than 300 million people worldwide and had increased in recent years. Depression is the result of a correlation between psychological, biological and social factors.

Do not fall into what your brother who suffers for a human being when there are five thousand six hundred million in the world, besides, it is not so bad to live alone; I have a good time deciding at every moment what I want to do and thanks to loneliness, I know myself, something fundamental to live.

The causes can be very diverse. From a triggering situation such as loss of a loved one, loss of a job, divorce or separation, family break-ups, economic and family crises, to induced behaviour, where children are raised from a sad perception of the world, to hormonal imbalances or hereditary factors. Even deep emotional loss can lead to biochemical changes in the body that trigger depression.

Don't fall into what your father who feels old because he is seventy years old fell into, forgetting that Moses led the exodus in the eighties and Rubinstein played Chopin like no one else in the nineties, to name just two known cases.

In some cases, the symptoms of depression can be severe enough to cause a disruption in daily activities. Simply getting out of bed to go to work, maintain normal social relationships, and leave home can be a real challenge.

That's why you think you lost something that's impossible because everything was given to you, you didn't do a single hair on your head so you can't own anything and life doesn't take things away from you, it frees you from things, it relieves you so you can fly higher, so you can reach your fullness..

How do you know if it's depression?

10369283_1418211458456742_544355610_n.jpg

We always identify depression with deep sadness, but there are other symptoms that allow us to describe it as such. Prolonged sadness, recurrence of negative thoughts, feelings of emptiness or hopelessness, recurrent crying, decreased daily activities, loss of interest in what is usually pleasant, loss of appetite, irritability or frustration, extreme tiredness, the need to sleep most of the day or disturbances in nighttime sleep, feelings of incomprehension, physical abandonment, among others, are usually warning signs.

You don't find happiness, and it's so easy, you just have to listen to your heart before your head intervenes, which is conditioned by your memory, which complicates everything with old things, with orders from the past, with prejudices that make you sick, that chain you: the head that divides, that is, impoverishes, the head that does not accept that life is as it is, not as it should be.

What should I do?

It is necessary to know that sometimes you need pharmacological treatment in addition to psychotherapy or psychological counseling, so if you feel that the depression "is getting out of hand" do not stand idly by waiting for the situation to progress, it is necessary to ask for help. Seek support from family and close friends.

Just do what you love and you'll be happy. He who does what he loves is blessedly doomed to success, who will come when he must come because what must be will be and will come naturally.

😃 Enjoy the little pleasures.

Listening to cheerful music, sunbathing, going to the beach, dancing, singing, playing with children, enjoying the little things with awareness helps us to maintain a positive mood.

It's worth a try, because as Facundo said: There are so many things to enjoy and our time on earth is so short, that suffering is a waste of time.
