"The medieval crown; for the love of bacon!"

This was the nickname of a cake that we recently made and auctioned off at my work for 3,600 dollars, and I'm going to take you through the step by step of how it was made! (without giving away too many secrets of course)(;

The Result

The Beginning

As you can see this was a three tier cake, the top tier was a caramel cake, the middle was chocolate and the bottom was a toffee cake. To hold them together in between each tier was a peanut butter cream cheese frosting.

The next step was to cover the entire cake in a chocolate fondue, and that got a bit messy but added a lot to the final look and flavor of the cake.

This third step is where we brought in the bacon! The hearts on the side were made of a soft bacon caramel and the strips of bacon on the side were candied and covered in toffee bits.

On the top included shards of hard caramel and candied bacon roses.

The center piece was one final soft, bacon caramel heart and bacon brittle to surround it, and for the love of bacon, this cake sold in an auction for $3600 dollars.
