Attention - Action

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

You know the thing about attention? It works. Attention and good intention is usually what people want to apply, but usually they're sadly translated into beliefs. Obama said "Yes, we can" This without really explaining what we can, why we can and how we can (what?), which causes people to believe in things they don't truly understand. Just because it sounded inspiring. Can you really be attentive during the whole day? For most people, no. Even less so when we go to bed, because we cannot be conscious enough when we're "awake" to have conscious dreams. First we must need to know how to use our attention and for that we must know what attention is: Action.

One cannot look, listen, talk, touch or feel without changing whatever they direct their attention towards. If you look at a person, you change that person. If you talk to a person, you change that person. If you truly listen to a person, you change that person. If you direct your feelings to another person, you change that person and if you touch him, you change that person. Are we even conscious at all times what we're doing with our own bodies? If we let the news, the movies we're watching or the music we're listening to take over, we are being changed. We're not changing anything, we're hypnotized, under suppression of knowledge. We're asleep. If we're taken over by the attention of others or other things, then how are we supposed to be responsible for our own actions if we don't take action to use our moral compass?

Sure, I'm not saying "Never listen to music" No. By all means do so, if you can pay attention TO the music, TO the movies, TO everything you should pay attention. The reason why these corporate psychopaths and sociopaths have any power over us at all, is because they do have power over us. This holds true to anyone who has more attention directed towards us, and it goes two ways. If they use their attention to rule, we must use our attention to be able to rule ourselves. If they use mind-control to think for us, we must use our thoughts to think for ourselves. The same goes for what we feel and act. They are highly attentive, driven and they know exactly, to 100% how attention works. This is why the world is governed and ruled by these people. Otherwise they would not have been our rulers. "Yes, the rulers can"

The same thing goes for steemit if we do not use our attention to prevent corruption. Yes, we've all seen how steemit can be corrupted, it's been trendy. Sure It is hard and tiring to pay full attention, especially when we first start out. That is exactly why there's so few who has the ability to use their full attention. Then of course, jealousy arrives when good people succeeds too. And it goes on and on. It takes a lot time and effort, and it takes a lot of effort to keep it that way. So don't just read this and think "Yeah, attention, yeah cool, I'll try" It's a doing with continuous effort.

We want easy. Fuck hard.
But at least, please, pay attention to it.

Please, let others pay attention too.
With greatest regards:

Ah, this fills out the picture of what you meant by 'attention' in your comment on my post :D. I agree, the observer cannot be isolated from the 'observed'. I agree, not to be 'mindful' or 'attentive' is to be asleep and to be vulnerable to manipulation. I agree with the drive to self-empowerment!

Ah, you got me =D Yeah this is exactly what I had in mind actually xD

Hi Azension, I wanted to post this here as a response to both your introductory post of last month and this post. Your themes remind me so much of the liberating lyrics of this song from the Rock Opera Tommy: I'm free
I'm free
And freedom tastes of reality
I'm free
I'm free
An' I'm waiting for you to follow me
If I told you what it takes
To reach the highest high
You'd laugh and say 'nothing's that simple'
But you've been told many times before
Messiahs pointed to the door
And no one had the guts to leave the temple!
I'm free
I'm free
And freedom tastes of reality
I'm free
I'm free
An' I'm waiting for you to follow me
How can we follow?
How can we follow?

Follow carefully, with great caution and judgment i guess. I think the lines that remind me of you most: "if I told you what to do to reach the highest high, you'd laugh and say nothing's that simple. But you've been told many times before, Messiahs' pointed to the door--no one had the guts to leave the temple!" Watch the song here (and the movie, if you ever get a chance. And oldie but a goodie, and a young Elton John steals the scene in Pinball Wizard!:
