We all have regrets; some more than others. But can having "regrets" hold you back in life? Sometimes we find ourselves doing things that are out of our comfort zone which just brings us down. We wonder why we made the choice in the first place and we can't fix the mistakes we've already made.
However, many people blame others for their faults. They don't realize they have done wrong even if they did. People who blame others for their mistakes usually feel guilty deep in their heart, but don't know how to move on. In time, their guilt eats away at them until there is nothing left except to accept their lack of self-esteem and take their problems lying down.
Regrets only hold you back in life if you let them. You may be scared to admit what you've done wrong but it is part of growing up. If you haven't learned how to deal with setbacks, this problem can get worse as you grow older. It gets harder to do the things you love. You might think you can't live without your hobby, but when you realize that you would have never been able to do it without your hobby, then you might realize how much you love it.
So, what should you do about your regretful thoughts? The first thing to realize is that you should not let other people's opinions influence your decision making. We base our decisions on a variety of factors which include our relationships with people, our environment, our goals, and others. You should always give yourself the benefit of the doubt and try to look at each decision individually. It will definitely help if you have a mentor or someone to talk to about your mistakes. They can help you see things in a new light.
You can't let other people tell you what you want to hear. People are only telling you what you want to hear because they don't know what you really want. Sometimes people only listen to what they want to hear because they don't want to face the decision of whether or not they actually have a reason for wishing to do something. When you have decided for yourself, then you will be free to do what you truly desire in life.
If you are committed to improving your life, then you will have lots of regret to deal with. Everyone makes mistakes; it's part of life. You shouldn't feel bad about yours because you didn't take the time to do a good enough search for the right opportunity. You may have missed out on great opportunities because you weren't willing to act fast enough.
Think about all the great times you had in life: the joy you felt on winning a quiz, the happiness you felt after completing an important project, and the excitement you felt as you learned a new skill or became a better person. All those things, along with accomplishing your goals and making good money, should lead you to believe that life is wonderful. If you don't think that these things are important enough to focus on now, then you will have regret when you look back on them in the future. If you don't take the time to think about the past, how will you view your future?
When you don't think about the future, how can you ever know if you are going to live a full life? If you don't take the time to think about the future, how will you know what is going to happen to you? You might end up living a life filled with regret. Regrets only hold you back in life if you don't take the time to look at the present and the future and you don't act on what you have decided.
