Why I Don't Sugarcoat Shit!

in life •  6 years ago

Hey guys!

So I am naturally a comedian, but sometimes I can be serious. I know this is looked down on on this platform, as we are in some whack-ass version of Black Mirror, where somehow people think if they behave a certain way they will make more money.

That may work for some people, but luckily I am not chasing upvotes, so Imma be me ya'll. Imma be Me.

I have been kind of confronted about how personal I get in my videos, and how that makes people uncomfortable.

I'm sorry if my life isn't picture perfect and I don't just post scuba diving pics and how much fun I have in the kitchen. I thought daily vlogging was supposed to be about daily life. Sadly, my life isn't glamorous, but luckily, I still feel like I have a lot to offer.

I appreciate watching posts of people being real...not just putting their best face forward, but kind of sharing the nitty gritty. It makes me feel so...not alone.

So, today I'm coming at you with wet hair and no makeup, and a message for the Facebook/Insta transplants that just want to build a big, fat, fake, but beautiful life on here! Good for you! I think that's great.

But, just let me be, and vlog about what makes me happy. That's all I ask.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Catch ya later!

-Beth

@bethwheatcraft says the truth! Life is hard and you are right about it all in this video. As far as community goes here, I have made a few really good friends (including you of course Beth) but there is also a bad side to this community as well. Everyone knows what I mean but won't say it I'm sure. I have to catch up on all the videos and see what I have been missing. You Rock Beth!

Yes. Every community has a seedy underbelly.

I am so glad I have a few close friends though! I am really grateful for that! :)

I think your points are all valid although I do try and be careful especially with random people and maybe even more so with girls. It's crazy how much impact a random person can have on people nowadays. It seems like some people practically want to kill themselves if some online troll tells them they're ugly.
I'm sorry not every guy can be as perfect as me. lol
Are you on meds?

Naw. I have tried anti-depressants, but they just made things worse. Plus I'm on an impressive amount of MS meds so I wouldn't dare throw more into the mix.

I am not a dickhole to people, but I am not afraid to defend myself. I think for the most part I am a decent person, but I am an honest person, and oftentimes honesty and kindness don't always mix perfectly.

Yeah those anti-depressants can kill you. Are you on disability? MS and kids seems like it would be a lot to deal with.
Can you block people on discord? I try and stay away from bad and mean people but there are some wolves out there in sheep's clothing and if you are a nice person you have to be careful who you try and help.

I left discord entirely. It was bumming me out.

I am not on disability. I would feel just awful taking it. I feel too young to be disabled. It sucks.

It is definitely a lot. Three kids, managing a non profit, full time steemit and everything in between. I've also had 2 back to back relapses, so my neurologists are worried things are speeding up. I am such an independent person that it terrified me to think I am getting that much closer to dependence.

But alas, life goes on!

Sometimes it seems like disability is the #1 job in my area. lol
Do you get paid from the non profit? MS relapses?
That would be scary.
I never added MS to my website. Whoops. :(

This is also why I take advantage of energy when I have it, for fun projects, like the video I just uploaded. I doubt very much in ten years that I will be able to dance in heels around a pole!

Make hubby that $ while you can! ;) lol

Since I have known you never give shitty issues a damn; you address it and I can picture your dignity character from your videos even without personal contact.

You're the awesomest friend @udezee!

Bravo, there is so much more to the human experience, than unicorns an rainbows. I tend to be suspicious of the all positive all the time people. After all John Wayne Gacy was pretty positive, and look how he turned out

Yeah, my honesty makes people uncomfortable.

Their fakeness makes me uncomfortable.

Nothing better than laying it down as it is. I write a ton of shit. If it comes natural and you enjoy the process, go for it.

There will always be an audience. If some girls like eating shit and being pissed on, there will be a ton of people interested in my drivel.

Keep it up! Nick.

Sugarcoating is so politically correct and sucks!
My life sucks really bad too. 2 failed marriages that gave me 3 great kids too...

No worries mate marriages are meant to fail, you will see the real success in your life as a bachelor man whn you see your children grow to be kind humans. Nothing makes you more proud than that. Cheers

Wh00p wh00p! I have not (yet) seen your video from yesterday but YES for being honest and vulnerable and YES for responding to all the asshats who think you either should video positivity or you cooking in a kitchen ;-) GO!
