Rambutan (Almost had to lable NSFW)

Never go to the store hungry they say..... I can attest to that, I always buy a bunch or random things. This is one of them. 20180202_185520.jpg I saw them next to the dragon fruit, and could not stop laughing at the way they look. I usually will buy the exotic fruits when they come in, but have never seen one of these. Wikipedia said they are cultivated mostly in the Southeast Asia area with Thailand being the largest producer. One thing I did find interesting, they only grow them commercially within 12 to 15 degrees of the equator. I just cracked one open, and wow was pleasantly surprised. Inside it was like skinning a grape. It was pretty sweet and tasted good. I definitely will probably buy them again. If you get a chance grab some. I paid 1 usd for 2.

Whaaat? 1 usd for 2? 😮 Here in the philippines your 1 usd can already buy 1 kilo of it. But the good thing is you try something new in your life. They really look like balls but they surely taste good. :')

Rofl. At least the balls are cheap.

Hahahaha lol you got some point. Maybe hairy balls surely cost high. :D

Ya thanks, for rubbing in that I got screwed on the price. It is clearly not native here. Ya and mine were definitely aged balls.

Should have posted a picture of how the actual fruit looks. Almost like an eye, delicious :D

Wow, the fruit is very tasty, in my house many friends. You can take it from the tree.

I need to move to a different place.

Are you serious, my friend? wow i am very happy

I have definitely never seen those before, but they look like cousins to the dragonfruit.

Welcome to every healthy food 🍴 😆

One of our local fruit available thru out the year. Yes it as if like 'nsfw' at some point. Haha

ya it just looks so funny

I loved these when I was travelling SE Asia. I ate so many it made my belly hurt...or that might have been something else....still so yummy.

I had a coworker who brought them in to work once. They're really tasty. Now I need to go to the Chinese grocery store. They have lots of the "random things" you talked about. And you can't really go wrong with fruit!

ya fruit is usually the safe thing no matter where you are.
