"Increasing your saving over time is one of the best ways to plan a successful future."

That's true, but what do you do when you don't have enough income to save anything and it's a struggle just to afford bills and rent etc? The only two things I can think of doing to change anything is:
a) keep applying for jobs (of course), even though it can start to seem like the definition of insanity: "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result"
b) hope that you can make income another way, like a home business etc.

You can't save what you don't have unfortunately. I'm not sure if there is anything else that can be done, that I haven't thought of, but those two are all I know for that situation.
