The Art of Favouritism - How Many People Are Corrupted by Favourites?

"The Art of Favouritism" by Jacob David Goldsborough is a great little book. It is subtitled "How to Play the Lord". This would be appropriate, since it teaches us how to play the Lord. I like this book for many reasons. It does not put me in a difficult situation, it does not force me to do something I don't want to do, and it gives me an opportunity to get away from the "I don't want to" problem. There are several situations this book covers that will help you get out of the "I don't want to" problem.

First, we have the story of moses, the slave master. Jacob, who is a nice boy, tries to convince moses that he is more important than the Lord. Mose responds with violence. But then later, when Jacob's family joins him in his house as guests, he apologizes for slapping moses, and says he loves us, and thanks god for making him a better master.

The next part of The Art of Favouritism involves the story of Ishmael and Isaac. Isaac is the father of Sarah, and is very devout. He gets so upset when Ishmael does not accept him to be her husband, that he smashes his skull. Many people might consider this an extreme example of hatred, but many people would consider that Ishmael deserved what was being done to him for his own good.

The third and last section of The Art of Favouritism tells the story of Aaron, a man who worships at the temple of Jerusalem. Aaron becomes very upset when he finds that some of the men from his home country have arranged to worship in the temple. In anger, Aaron burns down the temple, killing many people, including the high priest. This is the basis of the book of Ruth, in which Ruth lures her way into the Promised Land by telling her husband, Benjamin, that if he will marry her, then they will enter into the promised land.

As you can see, The Art of Favouritism is not so much about the religious beliefs of different people, but more about how many people try to manipulate the religious leaders of different religions. In many cases, they succeed. There is a good lesson here for us. If we are ruled by our emotions, then it is obvious that we will never be successful in life.

What is the most important thing we can learn from The Art of Favouritism? The most important lesson is that we should always be careful about what we tell other people. When we are deeply moved by something, we will sometimes bend the rules a little bit. Sometimes we do not realise the extent of our mistake, but that is okay. In the end, The Art of Favouritism will teach us that we should always be careful about what we do and how we act.
