Getting angry is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to get sick:steemCreated with Sketch.

There is always that one person in a room of 100 that has the ability to bring out the worst in you, other people can pour out their soup on your new Persian carpet and you would be understanding towards them, and then there is that one person that you would get extremely annoyed with for just holding their spoon wrong.

We have all been there at some points in our lives, you know that place where you find yourself angry or upset, but you see getting angry is like drinking poison and expecting the object of your anger to get sick.

Anger is like a poison that sickens your soul, and for the greater part of it; anger is completely and utterly unnecessary as well as unwarranted.

You never know what battle the other person is fighting:

If you have to judge others based on their actions, please take the time to consider that the situation firstly might not be as it seems and secondly take into account that circumstances beyond their control might have lead up to their actions then take into account that we do not know what these battles are that the person is fighting, so; if you do find yourself judging, make sure that you are doing so favorably.

Sitting on a high horse might restrict your view from your own errors and faults that will be the object of your panel of judges at some point.

Rather Sweep In Front Of Your Own Door

Instead of looking for things that upset you in the lives of others, rather look for the things that you can better in yourself.
Every single one of us has faults and the best way to create a world that we are happy to be a part of is to become a person that you can be proud of. Make the changes that you would like to see in others by starting with your own faults and working on them. Then accept the ones around you for all of the good that they host instead of blindly staring into the mistakes they make or have made look part their faults and see their beauty, and strive to be an example rather than a judge.

there goes the saying

Oh, yes please!!!

I wish everybody would keep this golden rule.

Excellent advice! But it takes time and practice, like everything else.

Such is life!

I like that saying in the title, and anger really does often seem to be brewed for someone else, as if made to be served to another. Whenever I have made a batch of anger in the past, I probably didn't think that I was immune, I was just too mad to care! I'm working on that though, getting better at controlling that energy of anger that can race our hearts and redden our faces, or make us say and do regrettable things. I remember to breath more often now, doing important things like that instead of trying to dose anyone with any of my angry concoctions.

Thanks for sharing this, it's a good reminder.

Well if you are at a point that you realize this then you are closer to bettering yourself in this aspect than most of us are!

Thank you so much!

I once read a paper saying if you where to sit a person in a room with no external influences that they would settle into there natural state ... some a little to the happy side some to the sad side ...few people settle in the middle neutral state not happy or sad ... it basically said we are set one way or the other a little ...and some aa lot lol but not something that can be changed easily ... I will leave you with a song lol

hahahaha, Classic!!!
Thank you so much, you have made my day!

Oh wow, thank you so much!!

"Anger is like a poison that sickens your soul, and for the greater part of it; anger is completely and utterly unnecessary as well as unwarranted."

I 100% agree with these words. In my past I allowed anger way too much in my life and the only thing it did was feed myself with more anger. Now I try to let it go. Of course when someone really hurts me, I get angry but in a different way because I know that when I hold on to that anger instead of talk and or forgive, the only thing that will happen is that I am going to lose myself in the wrong emotions.

these are such true words, couldn't agree with you more!!

Every words are true.
The poison metaphore is a direct hit!
Angriness does not worth it.

So true my friend, coun't have said it better!

I agree largely with what you are saying, but I always knew the saying as "seeking vengeance is like drinking poison an expecting the other to die" anger can be a healthy and necessary emotion, that when denied can fester and turn to hate and violent breakdown. Anger is a sign that there is some sort of injustice and when acknowledged can be transformed into healing and correction. I think it is dwelling on it, or the altogether denial of anger that is destructive. Great post, upvoted! <3

That is true, but once managed correctly and acknowledge we are able to deal with situations better

You've got skills to envy.
